SPECIAL NOTES
Father Carina would like that all doors be kept closed at all times before AND during Mass. Ushers should be at each entrance to enforce this.
EACH Usher should assist parishioners to available seating before each Mass. Once Mass begins, all parishioners are to be held back until the procession approaches the center aisle. When the procession is in the center aisle, all ushers shall again assist parishioners to seating until. There should be an Usher at each entrance to control the area. Hold the parishioners until the first reading, then seat the parishioners. The Ushers must then quickly and quietly seat the remaining parishioners before the priest begins to read the Gospel. No seating until after the Gospel.
The doors must remain closed until the end of Mass. The main purpose is not to disturb the congregation and the Word of God. Ushers, please use your good judgment at all times to handle any situation.
It is the responsibility of each usher to secure a replacement if he/she can not make his/her assigned Mass. If, after calling the persons on the above list, and a replacement cannot be found, then call your Captain.
